Recap: The 2014 Robert Felix Memorial Golf Tournament

TCIAF's annual Robert Felix Memorial Golf Tournament raised nearly $55,000 to benefit students of arboriculture earlier this month. As such, students across the country will now have the opportunity to attend Student Career Days, held annually at TCI EXPO. Additionally, the TREE Fund's Felix Fund will be able to continue to offer scholarships for aspiring young arborists.

"The tournament was held on perhaps the most beautiful course ever for this event - the stunning views on the Ocean Club Golf Course kept distracting golfers from their shots," said Sarah Winslow, TCIA's Director of Development. "The challenging course turned confident arborists into scrambling shot makers for 18 stunning holes."

Traditionally held during TCIA's annual Winter Management Conference (WMC), this tournament honors the vision of Bob and Pat Felix for the next generation of arborists.

The first place winners included Jay Sunderman, Richard Foote, Dan Christie, and Jack Butcher. The second place team included Tony Gann, Scott Asplundh, David Fleischner, and Mark Garvin. Kevin Hartke and Pepper Deturo claimed the "closest to the pin" and the "longest drive" prizes, respectively.
