Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration issues alert in response to increased fatalities
October 12, 2016 - With the fatality rate climbing to more than 14 times what it was two years ago, MIOSHA has issued an alert cautioning against unsafe work practices. In the month of October alone, there were six fatalities in the state, five of which were the result of a fall. Other potential hazards include falling trees and branches, passenger vehicles and electrocution after contact with power lines.
Safety Training for Tree Care Professionals
TCIA will provide free safety training workshops
in the coming year, courtesy of the Susan Harwood Grant. The Arborist Safety Training Institute (ASTI)
will also provide such training opportunities for tree care professionals around the country.
