Spring 2017 ASTI grants awarded to 26 organizations across the country

Spring 2017 ASTI grants awarded to 26 organizations across the countryThe Arborist Safety Training Institute (ASTI), recently awarded nearly $37,000 in grants to 26 organizations, who will use these funds to host safety training workshops throughout the country.

“The lack of safety training in our industry leads to high injury rates and deaths,” says Mark Garvin, TCIA president “But ASTI is committed to providing funds to help bring quality, local and affordable safety training to working arborists who will take their safety seriously and help lower accident rates.”

ASTI, launched by the Tree Care Industry Association Foundation (TCIAF) in 2013, works to bring quality, local and affordable safety training to working arborists across the country through its grant program.

The following workshops will be hosted around the country between August 1, 2017 and January 31, 2018.

About TCIAF and TCIA

The Tree Care Industry Association Foundation (TCIAF) works to advance education and professional development in the green industry, improve safety and reduce accident rates in the tree care industry, and to disseminate information key to practitioners and consumers about proper tree care. TCIAF programs include Student Career Days (SCD), and the Arborist Safety Training Institute (ASTI).

TCIAF’s sister organization, the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA), is a trade association of 2,300 tree care firms and affiliates whose mission is to advance tree care businesses. TCIA develops safety and education programs, standards of tree care practice, and management information for arboriculture firms around the world. TCIA is also proud to present TCI EXPO, the world’s largest tree care industry trade show and conference. Learn more about TCIAF and TCIA at www.tcia.org.
