Arborist Safety Training Institute Awards Workshop Grants

The Arborist Safety Training Institute (ASTI) recently awarded nearly $34,000 in grants to 21 tree care organizations, who will use these funds to host safety training workshops throughout the country next year.

ASTI, launched by the Tree Care Industry Association Foundation (TCIAF) in 2013, works to bring quality, local and affordable safety training to working arborists across the country through its grant program. In pursuit of this goal, ASTI raised $2 million earlier this year with the support of generous donors.

“Many tree care workers risk their lives because they don’t receive adequate safety training,” says Mark Garvin, TCIA president. “ASTI aims to prevent this by providing basic safety education for those who need it most.”

ASTI grants fund a variety of workshops which encompass many safety specialties unique to the tree care industry.
