Overview
Hosted by the Arboriculture Society of Michigan and offered through TCIA with the support nationally of several major chipper manufacturers, the new Chipper Operator Specialist workshop uses a nationally recognized curriculum to train tree care employees in accepted practices for brush chipper operation and other closely associated tasks. The training program, built especially for crew members who do not receive many formal training opportunities, will increase employee involvement with overall safety compliance and self-policing. This training provides the tree worker with the opportunity to earn a nationally recognized credential. The workshop includes both lecture-style training (videos & discussion) and field training (brush chipper and chipper winch set-up, operation, inspection, and troubleshooting/ field maintenance). Participants receive a Chipper Operator Specialist enrollment and manual.
