Fatalities & Injuries
Summary. There were 89 fatal and 59 non-fatal occupational accidents reported in the media and
brought to TCIA’s attention in calendar year 2010, in the U.S. Of the fatal accidents, 37 that we
know of were investigated by OSHA. The median age of the deceased worker was 38, and all
were male. In the injury cases, the median age of the worker was 32 and all but one were male.
