TCIA Accredited company Collier Arbor Care has attained Oregon's Eco-Biz certification for Landscape Services and former TCIA Board Member Terrill Collier is the first arborist in Oregon to receive the Eco-Biz certification. The voluntary program is administered by the Pollution Prevention Outreach Team, a Portland, Oregon multi-agency group. To be certified, a business must go beyond state and local requirements for pollution prevention, completing a rigorous 159 point checklist.
The rigorous process of receiving certification ensures that designated businesses will provide customers with the most environmentally safe and healthy practices in the following areas:
- Hazardous waste management
- Air quality and pollution
- Spill prevention and response
- Product and waste storage
- Cleaning procedures
- Purchasing/inventory management
- Recycling procedures
- Employee involvement and training
- Drainage Systems
- Energy And Water Use
