TCIAF’s Robert Felix Memorial Golf Tournament at Winter Management Conference 2016 (WMC) honored the20th anniversary of Robert Felix’s passing. Held every year during WMC, the tournament honors the vision of industry leaders Bob and Pat Felix for the next generation of arborists by raising funds for students in the industry.
“We had a great turnout for this year’s tournament, which was held on the North Sound Golf Club course,” says Sarah Winslow, TCIA’s director of development. “It was a challenging 18-hole course, and is only one of its kind in the Cayman Islands.”
With the support of 61 players and 18 sponsors (listed below), the tournament raised a total of $39,785 for students of arboriculture. Specifically, these funds will help aspiring arborists travel to Student Career Days (SCD), the largest annual professional development event for students in the tree care industry.
- The first place winners included Scott Asplundh, David Fleischner, Tony Gann and Mark Garvin (53)
- The second place winners included Gene Bridges Mark Shipp, Andy Townsend, and Brian Tunge (56)
- Peter Andreucci and Tony Gann claimed the “closest to the hole” and “longest drive” prizes, respectively
