TCIA Credentialing Programs

TCIA offers a variety of educational opportunities for arborists to advance their knowledge, skills and careers. Our training programs fall under three categories:

  • Employer Credentialing Programs
  • Qualifications
  • Certifications

What is the difference between a credentialing program, a qualification and a certification?

Employer Credentialing Programs

A credentialing program is the voluntary completion of a self-study manual, or a workshop, on a general topic. This is available to employers as a way of verifying that training required by OSHA and ANSI Z133 has been performed.

Credentialing program manuals include a test that is mailed in to TCIA for evaluation.

Individuals receive a certificate of completion.

Tree Care Academy programs do not require renewal to maintain the credential.

Electrical Hazards Awareness Program is renewed annually following initial program completion to maintain the credential.

Individuals receive a qualification certificate upon successful completion of the program.
