Chain Saw Expert Trainer workshop in Oxford, CT, July 23-27

TCIA has partnered with North American Training Solutions (NATS) and Arboriculture Canada Training & Education to develop a new workshop for CTSPs whose desired path for professional development focuses on training expertise: specifically, training others in the safe use of chain saws. TCIA’s Chain Saw Expert Trainer workshop is a four-day, intense workshop that focuses on leadership and training techniques and skills, with a specific focus on training your team using TCIA’s Tree Care Academy (TCA) Chain Saw Specialist.

Employees: Being a trainer can be one of the most exciting and fulfilling occupations in the industry. Earning this certificate enhances your skills as a trainer and reinforces your commitment to your company’s safety culture.

Employers: Finding and developing highly skilled and competent trainers in your organization can be challenging. This Expert Trainer program will increase your trainer’s confidence, build on critical knowledge and skills and help create a low-stress learning environment for your team.

This professional development opportunity is designed for current CTSPs in good standing who are competent and experienced chain saw operators and have fulfilled the requirements of the Chain Saw Specialist curriculum prior to this workshop.

This significant and worthwhile investment is $1,499 for TCIA members/$1,699 for non-members and includes a low instructor-to-student ratio with expert guidance provided by Ed Carpenter of NATS and Dwayne Neustaeter of Arboriculture Canada, four nights’ accommodation, transportation between workshop venues, all meals and refreshments, and the following three training materials:

  • Tree Care Academy Chain Saw Specialist (workbook)
  • Chainsaw Safety & Cutting Techniques (reference manual)
  • Instructor Manual

The next workshop will be July 23-27, 2018, at Northeast STIHL in Oxford, Connecticut.
