TCIA's mission as a trade association is to advance tree care businesses. One of the primary ways to protect and advance the industry is by influencing public policy in a direction favorable for our members. We do this with contributions to political campaigns through the Voice for Trees Political Action Committee (VFT-PAC), by weighing in on select legislative/regulatory issues, and by directly involving members in grassroots efforts. The Voice for Trees Political Action Committee (VFT-PAC) is the Tree Care Industry Association's political advocacy voice for the tree care industry.
VFT-PAC works through the legislative process to advance issues vitally important to the tree care industry. The political action committee organizes TCIA members and raises funds necessary to positively affect national tree care issues such as immigration, pesticide regulations, hours of service rules, and changes in the American workplace.
Who receives VFT-PAC support?
TCIA's mission is to "advance tree care businesses.” One of the primary ways to protect and advance the industry is through attempts to influence public policy in a direction favorable to our members. TCIA accomplishes this in multiple ways:
Who can contribute to VFT-PAC?
Federal law prohibits associations from using member dues for political contributions.
VFT-PAC is funded through voluntary, individual contributions from TCIA members, only. We cannot accept contributions from corporations, non-TCIA members or non-U.S. citizens.
Contributions to VFT-PAC are not tax deductible.
Federal law prohibits solicitation of contributions from outside the restricted class, and that any such contribution will be returned to the donor.
How can I contribute to VFT-PAC?
The Federal Election Commission (FEC) requires the VFT-PAC to obtain written approval from owners or corporate executives of member companies before it may solicit and accept contributions from employees of the member companies.
By completing this Political Action Committee Authorization Form, your company and employees are not obligated to donate to the VFT-PAC – you are allowing TCIA to communicate with you and your employees in much greater detail about the VFT-PAC and how you can support it.
