Tree Care Specialist

Tree Care Specialist™

Keep your tree workers motivated and trained by giving them an industry credential. This will help you verify, according to OSHA and ANSI Z133.1 guidelines, that you have given safety training to all your employees according to their job description. It also helps to verify that your employees understand basic safety and technical concepts required to care for trees properly.

The Tree Care Specialist program is designed to give an additional credential to your Tree Climber or Ground Operations Specialist. This course is open only to Tree Climber Specialists or Ground Operations Specialists.

  • Safety
  • Tree Biology
  • Pruning
  • Transplanting
  • Fertilizing
  • Cabling and Bracing
  • Lightning Protection
  • Plant Health Care and more!

Training:

Use the Tree Care Specialist manual to help train your employees. In addition to the manual, you should include on-the-job training. The following TCIA training materials could also be used (optional):

  • Home Study Program Manual 1 - Basic Arboriculture
  • Home Study Program Manual 2 - Advanced Arboriculture

Verification:

Use the checklist provided in the Tree Care Specialist manual to verify and document that the enrollee has learned the required skills to be considered qualified according to OSHA and ANSI Z133.1 standards.

Enrollment Fee:

$79.99 for TCIA members ($104.99 for non-members). Fee includes the Tree Care Specialist manual.

The fee for this course also includes:

  • Test correction by TCIA
  • Transcript storage in TCIA database
  • Helmet Decal, Certificate, Laminated Wallet Card upon completion
